25th Anniversary Palm Springs International Film Festival in 2014

The Tribeca Film Festival is New York City’s most notable film festival, and the recent 2013 festival had quite a few fascinating and innovative films to watch. The film festival, which ran from April 17-28, had a good selection of drama, comedy, website, documentary, animation and shorts. This increasingly popular film festival draws both locals from New York City and visitors from all over the world. Some of the popular films featured at the 2013 TFF included Lenny Cooke, directed by Josh and Benny Safdie, a documentary about the challenges faced by young basketball players aspiring to make it to the NBA. Mistaken For Strangers, directed by Tom Berninger, is a concert film that follows the rock group The National on tour. The Motivation is a documentary made by Adam Bhala Lough that reveals the subculture of street skating. These are just a few of the films that were well received at this years TFF. Some of these films are available to watch online or may eventually be released on DVD. One of the highlights of this year’s festival was the closing, which featured a screening of The King of Comedy and appearances by director Martin Scorcese and star Robert DeNiro.

Newport Beach Film Festival 2013 Winners Announced

The 14th annual Newport Beach Film Festival has announced its winners for best actor, best actress, best film and a variety of other categories. The festival had 350 film entries from more than 50 different countries. At least 53,000 people attended the festival, making it a record setting year.
